What a Health Coach can do for YOU
While Dietitians and Nutritionist focus on food alone, a Health Coach works with their clients to achieve whole body health. Contrary to popular belief, being healthy is about more than the food we eat and the exercise we do. Everything you do impacts your health; from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. Each decision you make impacts your health positive or negative way.
No two people are created the same. Therefore no two people should approach health and wellness the same. Simply put, what is healthy for you may not be healthy for the next person. Which is one of the areas that traditional diets fall short… they do not take into account that each of us is unique and requires a customized approach. Which is where your Health Coach comes in…..
Health Coaches work with their clients to develop customized plans to achieve their goals while meeting them where they are in their health and wellness journey. Together with a Health Coach, you will focus on healing the body from the inside out by looking at your lifestyles and diet. You will also establish what your personal health and wellness goals are and identify any issues and roadblocks you may have. Your Health Coach will then provide you with education, tools, strategies and most importantly accountability to help holistically overcome your challenges through lifestyle changes. Health Coaches help their clients with a wide array of issues. This ranges from simply needing to shed a few pounds (weight loss), to increasing energy and reducing stress, as well as helping to manage chronic diseases and mental health issues such as depression, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, and high blood pressure to name a few. It is important to realize that to address health and wellness issues honestly; you need to implement lifestyle changes. When you look at it that way, it makes a lot of sense and is the reason that almost 95% of traditional dieters gain back the weight that they lost while they were on a diet program once they stop dieting; the changes they implemented were temporary, therefor, so was the weight loss. There are no quick fixes or no magic pills.
Most Health Coaches offer programs that span anywhere from 30 – 90 days and will adjust the plan depending on where you currently are. Through the duration of the program, they meet with their clients on a weekly/bi-weekly basis to continue to guide them and provide support throughout their journey. A Health Coach will develop a plan that specifically for you; that works only for you. Through the weekly/bi-weekly meeting you will continually assess your progress and learn new tools and techniques to overcome obstacles as they arise. Your Health Coach will be there every step of the way to continue to provide you with the accountability and support you need to implement long-lasting lifestyle changes.
The only question left is – are you ready to start your journey toward a healthier you?
